Description:
Vedanta is the oldest core of the wisdom tradition of India. It originates from the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. All important Indian teachers such as Ramakrishna, Ramana Maharshi, Sri Aurobindo and many others based their teachings on Vedanta. Vedanta also includes a very old and original meditation tradition. The teaching is a meditative path of Self-inquiry in order to come directly to our true Self that transcends the limitations of time and space, death and suffering. Vedanta shows us how, by looking within and asking ourselves questions, we can reach the core of pure consciousness that lies deep within us. This automatically puts an end to all our human problems and unites us with the Divine. The jewels of wisdom that Frawley has selected from original Vedic sources provide unusual insights. His final commentary on the Upadesja Saram by Ramana Maharshi, which he has newly translated, is of great class.
