Description:
Wim Hofman's world is a world full of wonder, playfully observed and described with humor. Nothing escapes his attention - whether it concerns the smallest animal on the beach or the bird high in the sky, the child who draws that bird or the person who eats the fish. He draws us into facts, such as the dizzying number of wing beats a fly makes per second, and into his boundless imagination. Quite often, a supposedly true story turns out to be completely made up, and vice versa; it is a treacherous game that Hofman plays.
The sublime opening story 'Natural History Museum or The Intern' is followed by a collection of observations on the coast, memories of his youth in Zeeland and stories that are infectiously absurd – with magnificent illustrations by himself.
