Description:
On an estate in the Ardennes, the well-known pianist Edith Waldschade has a private wolf camp. The young journalist Matthias Crone, who is busy compiling a wolf encyclopedia, goes there with an old school friend. During their weekend in the Ardennes, they also meet the other residents of the estate, who all have their own secrets. There is a palpable tension between them, which ultimately leads to an assassination attempt. The true story behind this family drama is difficult to discover. Everyone involved has their own interpretation of the facts, but no one knows the full extent of it. Hella S. Haasse: `Historical documents show how people in the past thought about each other and their time. I have always liked to use those letters and diaries and chronicles, but I find it more interesting to invent characters with their entire inner reality. I really enjoyed creatively writing Fenrir, and also my other so-called fictional novels.
