Description:
Maassluis, late 1940s. A bicycle repairman who was wrong during the war settles in the town. Two outcasts, the son of the bicycle repairman and the son of a sewer worker, find each other. However, their close friendship is repeatedly tested because the bicycle repairman's son has been stealing the girlfriends of the sewer worker's son since nursery school. Even later, when they are both studying in Leiden, this pattern within their friendship is maintained, until it is finally, in a disturbing way, broken.
