Description:
FATHER SKY MOTHER EARTH is the story of Chagak and the Tribe of the First Men, who populated the Aleutian Islands near Alaska some 9,000 years ago, after the last ice age. Chagak is fifteen years old when her village is attacked by a hostile tribe. Chagak and her brother are the only survivors. Frightened and sad, she flees with him; alone in an icy cold world of nothing but natural forces. On a neighboring island, she finds shelter with Shuganan, an old hermit. Life seems to be getting colorful again for Chagak. But then one of the attackers of her village appears, Man-who-kills, and she needs all her strength, courage and intelligence to survive.
