Description:
Two seven-year-old boys are abducted in the middle of a Glasgow street. Both children have been neglected for years. For Detective Inspector Colin Anderson, the case is particularly disturbing because the boys bear a strong resemblance to his own son Peter. When the police investigation seems to have reached a dead end, a seemingly innocent fire degenerates into a relentless manhunt for the perpetrator. An elusive killer chooses his victims at random and cleverly misleads the police - if Detective Costello is right. As his team struggles to solve both cases, Colin Anderson discovers that betrayal and deceit can take many forms. As long as the boys' kidnapper is still at large, no child is safe. Singing for the Dead is a beautifully written psychological thriller, dark, sensitive and exciting at the same time. A thriller that keeps the reader in its grip from start to finish.
