Description:
TUNNEL TO FREEDOM
On September 14, 1962, 29 people fled from East to West Berlin through a 170-meter-long tunnel.
This book tells in detail about the planning, the preparations and the actual construction of that tunnel, with all the setbacks and fears that those involved experienced. The chance of failure and the threat of betrayal or discovery by the Stasi were permanently present. Author Ellen Sesta was part of the plot as a courier at the time. She wrote this book based on her diary notes and conversations with those involved.
