About the book:
Many people experience a lack of direction and identity. They are hungry for information on how to best shape their (life) career. But they then do not know what to do with this information because they do not have a story about their own life that meaningfully connects past, present and future.
At the same time, they are expected everywhere to have such a story ready. Self-management is the watchword, both in education ('own responsibility'), on the labour market ('employability') and in society ('citizenship').
The story that makes self-management possible does not, however, emerge by itself. It is written gradually in a dialogue that takes place not only between people but also within them.
In this collection, 22 authors address questions from various perspectives such as:
What does a good (career) dialogue look like?
Why do teachers often find it difficult to talk to their students about their careers?
Which situations promote dialogue?
In addition to critical analyses of existing practice, the authors also offer methodological guidelines for conducting good (career) dialogues. The book provides the latest state of affairs regarding theory, research and practice of modern career guidance.
About the author(s):
