Description:
Who (doesn't) travel is crazy is one big hymn to traveling by successful psychologist, but also passionate traveler Ap Dijksterhuis. Like no other, he knows the immense effects traveling has on our condition. It is the way to keep our brain flexible, it offers us inspiration and creativity, undermines prejudices, makes us happier, and, ultimately, extends our lives.
According to Dijksterhuis, the benefits of traveling are truly limitless and he paints this with verve in a mighty panorama. At breakneck speed and with a lot of humor he takes us from India to the US, from Ecuador to Zanzibar, from Burma to Iran, and from Belarus to Bhutan. He connects hilarious, but also painful travel experiences to surprising psychological insights. Who (doesn't) travel is crazy is a must for anyone who loves to travel, with just a backpack or surrounded by luxury in five-star hotels, to faraway places or closer to home, active or dreaming in an armchair.
Ap Dijksterhuis (1968) is a professor, writer, speaker, entrepreneur and one of the most influential psychologists in the Netherlands. He is a professor of psychology at Radboud University Nijmegen. He previously wrote Op naar geluk and De bijzondere psychologie van een wijndrinker. More than 100,000 copies of his book Het slimme naakte have been sold.
