Description:
Number 10 of the only real rock 'n' roll magazine in the Netherlands. Time for something very special. In 1978, Greil Marcus asked a number of pop music writers, including Lester Bangs and Nick Toshes, what that one, Decisive Album was that they would take with them to a desert island. That question resulted in a book with twenty contributions that now enjoys cult status: Stranded. Rock and Roll for a Desert Island.
Exactly thirty years after Stranded, WAHWAH releases the triple-thick theme issue Groeten van Rottumerplaat. The decisive album according to 100 and some writers. In a maximum of 1000 words, poets, writers, columnists, musicians, philosophers and critics tell which album is so important in their lives that they would survive a lifelong banishment to a desert island with it. It produces moving, funny, angry, candid and melancholic stories that show that we can miss a lot on such an island, except music.
