Description:
When Ayané returns to her native country, the imaginary Eku in the heart of Africa, after studying in France, she finds a nearly deserted village. The men have left to find work, leaving women, children and the elderly behind in listless boredom. The civil war that is ravaging the country initially seems to pass the small, sleepy community by, until one evening a group of armed men enters the village, looking for boys and girls to recruit into their troops. The inhabitants are completely overwhelmed and a terrible drama unfolds. The villagers are forced to take part in a barbaric ritual that they will never forget.
