Description:
This book is about intermediate figures in literature: authors who hang between a definitively abandoned past and a poorly defined future. They embrace a new world while looking back or they look forward while rejecting that new world. The writing intermediate figure does not record his existence as a position but as a process. One of the merits of an 'intermediate author' is that he also makes the reader an intermediate figure for the duration of the book: the writer makes the reader think about his own perspective.
The collection opens with two literary texts that closely relate to the theme of the book: a travelogue by Lieve Joris and an essay by Anil Ramdas.
