Description:
Frenk der Nederlanden (1959) writes a daily chronicle about Amsterdam in Het Parool. In it, he portrays not only neighborhoods, squares and streets, but especially the people he meets there, from bicycle couriers to resistance heroes and from city shamans to loitering youths. He lifts tiles, he gets annoyed, he professes his love for the global village of Amsterdam. Of the thousand city chronicles that Frenk has written, 101 are bundled in this book. Together they tell the story of a city full of humor and noise.
