Description:
Salmon Fishing in Yemen is the story of Fred Jones, a government scientist with a passion for fishing. He is asked to lead an unusual project: the introduction of salmon to Yemen, at the request of a wealthy sheikh. Biologically speaking, this is not possible, so Fred concludes that this undertaking is doomed to failure. However, there is great pressure from above to accept the request, because the government sees it as a good opportunity to improve diplomatic relations with Yemen. His meetings with the sheikh force him to reevaluate both the project and his life in general.
