Description:
Efrem Parodi, professor of history, has had enough of the corruption and moral decay in his homeland. When the Italian community in Argentina offers him a chair, he leaves immediately.
Efrem enjoys teaching and seems to be starting a new life. But the elite in the Italian community soon become as much against Efrem as the powerful in his native country. And Argentina also has a violent past: the ghosts of the desaparecidos were still around.
During his lectures he falls under the spell of the student Alicia, daughter of a desaparecido. She is looking for father Tino, the priest who assisted her father who was thrown into the sea.
Much is unclear. Was Raúl Montes really her father? Had the priest really assisted him? And what was his name: Salterbeg, Sanbergek, Scanbek? Together, Alicia and Efrem set out on a quest - a long journey that ends dramatically.
