Description:
Football temples that have become legendary for the sport, such as the "old" Wembley Stadium, the Maracanà in Rio de Janeiro, the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, the Olympic Stadium in Rome, but also modern buildings that were built in Japan and South Korea for the 2002 World Cup or in Portugal for the 2004 European Championships, or stadiums that are still under construction for the next World Cup - in Germany in 2006 - and continental championships - in Switzerland and Austria in 2008. They are analysed not only for their undeniable value for football, but also from an architectural point of view. With the help of photographs, drawings and plans, we (re)discover the history of a hundred football complexes all over the world.
