Description:
Weird Guide Amsterdam is an offbeat city guide. Weird Guide deliberately puts the spotlight on places and parts of the city that you might not immediately think of. Weird Guide is the first city guide about Amsterdammers who made different choices for themselves or their company. Often fair trade or otherwise sustainable choices, but always environmentally conscious. Their motto: reuse old principles for new economic thinking and thus create new business opportunities.
Experience
Weird Guide is a way of looking at the city. A city you thought you knew. It is a way to experience and hold on to the city. Weird Guide is a graphic wonder and a series of the best that Amsterdam has to offer - lesser-known aspects of the city that you should not miss during a visit. Weird Guide is composed of personal discoveries and interviews with people who make conscious choices.
Weird Guide looks beyond the facades of the canal houses, bypasses the Royal Palace and other well-known museums. Included is, for example, the Pianola museum, and a chapter on tram tourism. Weird Guide took tram 3, 10 and 26 to help the reader on his way. Furthermore, crazy city walks, such as the sneaker walk, choco walk and the gay leather walk.
Gerrie van Adrichem (Nieuwe Energie Leiden) took care of the layout, Annemiek Dilven Studio TokTok drew the city maps and the walking routes. Several young Amsterdam cartoonists made illustrations.
Amsterdammers are world famous for their hospitality. Discover the city together with the Amsterdammers, but let Weird Guide Amsterdam be your guide.
