Description:
Maurice de Hond (1947) went from being a celebrated and sought-after businessman, political advisor, pollster, technology expert and well-known Dutch person to, at least as far as the media is concerned, a kind of pariah. In this candid book, he looks back. He does not shy away from the sensitive subjects: the current 'cordon sanitaire' of the media, his millennium bug warning, the Deventer murder case, his widely criticized vision of the corona policy, the death of his wife and son, and personal failure. It all comes up: his youth with two parents who survived Auschwitz, 45 years of opinion polls, his ties with people like Den Uyl, Wiegel, Kok, Fortuyn, Rutte and various prominent Dutch business people. De Hond also shares his experiences in the business world in the Netherlands and Silicon Valley, and on the football field as a referee in professional football and more. This special book will amaze you. Both because of the tumultuous life of the man himself and his in-depth analyses and sometimes bizarre (but in retrospect correct) predictions. It is both a biography and a sharp commentary on these uncertain times, in which the madness of the day determines the discourse.
