Description:
The Golden Pyramid is the annual State Prize for inspiring clients. In 2014, the theme is architecture. A jury chaired by Chief Government Architect Frits van Dongen selects a winner from five nominees. Cemetery and crematorium De Nieuwe Ooster wins this year's State Prize for inspiring clients for the multi-year restoration of the park and the buildings. Despite the lackluster construction sector, clients are succeeding in realising appealing and inspiring projects. No fewer than 83 entries were received for the 2014 Golden Pyramid. In addition to new construction, these often involved the repurposing of existing buildings. This book presents the winner and the four other nominated clients with their projects in words and images, including the jury's verdict. In addition to this, ten other entries are discussed that form an interesting sample of innovative clientship. In addition to an extensive jury report, the book contains a number of essays. A DVD with the TV broadcasts about the nominated entries is included. The nominated clients: - Housing source for Supercube in Rotterdam; - IJssellandschap Foundation for the KeizersRande Nature Reserve near Diepenveen; - the New Eastern cemetery and crematorium for the renovation of the New Eastern cemetery in Amsterdam; - the Van Bekkum group & Edwin Oostmeijer project development for the Ithaka project in the Homeruskwartier in Almere and - MIET Recreation Park for the MIET air project in Beers
